I'm a US freelance writer and editor based in Bangkok, Thailand. On Suite 101, I plan to write about travel attractions in Southeast Asia and about Asian history. Of course, there's a lot of overlap--or there should be.
In the travel sphere, I've updated guidebooks to Thailand and Vietnam and written articles for in-flight magazines, regional periodicals and US travel trade publications HotelNewsNow.com and TravelAge West.
Most of my journalism experience has been little concerned with travel. As a staffer and a freelancer, I've reported on business and public policy, court cases and environmental messes, town hall meetings and U.N. conferences, philanthropists and film festivals. I'm interested in art, history, adventure travel, far-flung islands, scuba diving, textiles, literature, movies, architecture, Buddhism and funny little museums.
